Set Up In FCPCT ULPGC
The Canarian Scientific and Technological Park Foundation of the ULPGC and The Society of Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria are offering jointly the incubation and consolidation spaces of the Technological Park of Gran Canaria (PTGC).
Three options for applying for offices are available:
- Applying for business incubation and new companies.
- Applying for consolidated companies.
- Applying for technological and innovative projects.
What are the PTGC consolidation spaces?
They are spaces for innovative or technological companies in the growing phase to develop activities appropriate to the characteristics of the spaces in the PTGC.
What are PTGC spaces for business incubation and new companies?
They are spaces for start-up companies with technological and / or innovative projects, in which its business or professional activity has began two years before at most, where they will access business support service for the incubation of their projects. These services are offered by SPEGC and FCPCT.
What are the spaces to attract to the Gran Canaria Technological Park (PTGC) technological and innovative projects which are intended to generate intensive qualified employment?
They are spaces destined to companies that develop technological or innovative projects intended to generate intensive qualified employment, that contribute with a differential value or represent an improvement for the local environment and that can be linked to developments or joint actions with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or with the Gran Canaria Technology Park.
Where are these PTGC consolidation, incubation and new companies spaces which are also for the attraction of technological and innovative projects?
These spaces are located in different centres of the PTGC, located in environments of innovation equipped with the most advanced infrastructures and services. These centres are a meeting point for entrepreneurs and companies in different stages of growth and maturity where synergies are fostered while encouraging the generation of joint projects, creating dynamics of collaboration between companies and research centres.

In the PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA, the consolidation and incubation spaces are located in the following buildings:
EDIFICIO POLIVALENTE II (MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING II), EDIFICIO POLIVALENTE III (MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING III) y POLIVALENTE IV ((MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING IV:) Intended for companies with technological or innovative projects, incubated companies and new companies.

In the PTGC-RFC, the spaces of consolidation, incubation and for attraction of technological and innovative projects are located in the following buildings:
PASARELA BUILDING (spaces of consolidation, incubation and for attraction of technological and innovative projects:) Preferably, destined to incubated bunisess and new companies with projects of digital contents.
INCUBE BUILDING (incubation spaces) preferably, destined to incubated bunisess with projects in TICs, tourism and leisure and digital contents and included in one of these two categories:
- Incubated companies.
- New companies that have been participating in entrepreneurship programmes organized by SPEGC, ULPGC or FCPCT ULPGC.
The spaces of consolidation, incubation and the attraction of technological and innovative projects in these two centres can be expanded as new buildings are added to the PTGC for consolidation, incubation and for attraction of technological and innovative projects.
Who manages these spaces of the PTGC?
The spaces are managed by:
- PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA: Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT).
- PTGC-RFC: Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society, S.A.U. (Sociedad de Promoción Económica de Gran Canaria, SPEGC). (SPEGC).
Characteristics of the spaces of the PTGC
PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA:
EDIFICIO POLIVALENTE II (MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING II), images :
- Offices of different areas, from 14 to 50 m² approximately.
- Furnished or unfurnished.
- Internet connection.
- Basic supplies (electric power up to 3.6 Kw)
- Possibility of an additional ADSL line contracted by the user.
- Basic cleaning (emptying litter bins).
EDIFICIO POLIVALENTE III (MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING III), images :
- Offices of different areas, from 19 to 60 m² approximately.
- Furnished or unfurnished.
- Internet connection.
- Basic supplies (electric power up to 3.6 Kw)
- Possibility of an additional ADSL line contracted by the user.
- Basic cleaning (emptying litter bins).
EDIFICIO POLIVALENTE IV (MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING IV), images :
- Offices of different areas, from 13 to 50 m² approximately.
- Furnished or unfurnished.
- Internet connection.

PTGC-RFC:
- Offices from a minimum floor space of approximately 14/18 m².
- No furniture.
- Internet connection via optic fibre: at least symmetrical 50 Mb guaranteed.
- Basic supplies (electric power up to 3.6 Kw.)
- Possibility of an additional ADSL line contracted by the user.
- Basic cleaning (emptying litter bins).
- Offices with an area of approximately 25 m².
- No furniture.
- Internet connection via optic fibre: at least symmetrical 50 Mb guaranteed.
- Basic supplies (electric power up to 3.6 Kw.)
- Possibility of an additional ADSL line contracted by the user.
- Basic cleaning (emptying litter bins).
Services of buildings of the PTGC
Basic services:
- Office and kitchen or catering, vending machines.
- Internet connection.
- 24 hours access through access card.
- Cleaning of common areas.
- Rest area.
- Workshops and meetings (free of charge and subject to reservation.)
- Reception of post services.
- Surveillance.
- Security and Maintenance.
- Parking area (subject to availability.)
Free business support services offered at the PGC:
- In the case of incubated companies, and in view of the company and its project, the management entity shall determine the free services offered to it for its incubation during its stay time in the business incubator.
- Information by mailing on: aids, subsidies, events, courses, etc., that may be of their interest.
- Contacting research centres.
- View all FCPCT services.
Bonuses for users:
The users of the consolidation spaces shall have the bonuses that expressly are determined in:
- Training rooms.
- Training actions.
- Attendance to events and programs.
- Business advice and services.
Conditions of payment
The first month shall be paid in advance and the subsequent months shall be paid by advanced monthly instalments via direct debit. A deposit corresponding to two months' hire shall be required.

To whom are PTGC consolidation spaces intended?
These spaces are directed to companies that meet the following requirements:
- SMEs (self-employed, professionals or legal entities) according to the definition and requirements established at any time by the European Union.
- Developing technological projects or innovative business models that provide a differential value and/or represent an improvement for the local environment, or developing advanced professional services in engineering or architecture.
- Developing a lawful and adequate activity to the characteristics of the spaces offered.
It shall be appreciated that:
- The activity developed by the companies concerned is related to the sectors to which the buildings in which these consolidation spaces are located and create synergies with the PTGC ecosystem.
- The companies prove their connection with the PTGC or with the ULPGC.
Period of stay in the PTGC consolidation spaces
The stay duration in the consolidation spaces is a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 6 years. Notwithstanding the above, the interested parties may request a maximum of 3 years, which may be extended for a maximum period of 3 additional years.
The request for an extension shall be made through the form enabled for this purpose; it shall be attached the necessary documentation for the Evaluation Committee to proceed to its assessment taking into account the need for permanence in these spaces. In addition, the extension shall be conditioned to the fulfilment of the requirements, the organizational needs of the management entities of the spaces and the availability of space in view of the demands.
Prices of the PTGC consolidation spaces
For the year 2016, the prices approved are as follows:
- Furnished office: € 13 / m2 (PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA)
- Office not furnished: € 12 / m2 (PTGC- CAMPUS DE TAFIRA AND PTGC-RFC)
How to apply for a PTGC consolidation space?
In order to request a consolidation space, the interested company that complies with the above-mentioned requirements shall send the duly completed form (see form), which shall be attached to the documentation indicated, in each case:
Regarding the company:
Legal persons:
- Deed of incorporation of the mercantile entity, if applicable, deeds of amendment of the bylaws, duly registered in the corresponding Mercantile Registry.
- Tax identification number (NIF) of the commercial entity.
- Deed of legal representative, duly registered in the corresponding Commercial Registry.
- Accreditation of the beginning of the activity through the submission of the Census Declaration Form (Mod. 036.)
Individual entrepreneurs:
- Registration in the Special Regime of Autonomous Social Security Workers.
- ID or Foreigner’s ID (NIE) of the individual entrepreneur.
- Accreditation of the beginning of the activity through the submission of the Census Declaration Form (Mod. 037).
Regarding the business project:
- When it has not passed one year since the beginning of the company activity at the time of filing the application (Model 036 or 037): Company plan with the minimum content of the model available on the form.
- When the application has been submitted more than one year after the beginning of the company activity (Model 036 or 037): Growth and expansion plan with the minimum content of the model available on the form.
Regarding space:
The form contains a section for the company to select its preference regarding the location of the consolidation spaces, as well as its surface, this choice being informative and non-binding.
The spaces shall be allocated according to the type of project to be developed, the needs requested and the availability of space in the different buildings. The agreement of admission shall contain the data of the space assigned for its acceptance by the applicant.
The submission of the application for a consolidation space implies the approval and acceptance of the rules (see standards) of incubation and consolidation spaces.
Criteria for the evaluation of applications submitted to the consolidation space of the PTGC
Applications that meet all the requirements indicated above, shall be evaluated and scored according to the following criteria:
- Degree of innovation of the product or service 20
- Generation of employment 30
- Potential growth and expansion 20
- Differential value and synergies with the PTGC ecosystem and, where appropriate, connection with the ULPGC 30
In order for the application to be admitted, you shall need to get 60 points. The evaluation of the project may lead to an interview.
Depending on the fulfilment of the requirements, the result of the application evaluation and the availability of spaces, the application shall be accepted or denied as soon as possible.
In the event that consolidation spaces are not available or the space offered is not accepted by the applicant, the application shall remain on hold for a period of 6 months, after which it shall expire.
After the admission of the application, it shall be necessary the acceptance by the applicant of the allocated space and the formalization of the corresponding contract with the managing entity.
The notifications shall be made via email to the address indicated for that purpose in the application.
What does being user of a consolidation of the PTGC space imply?
- Perform during the term of the contract an effective enjoyment of the space for the development of the project as presented.
- Should also comply with the rules (see rules) of the incubation and consolidation spaces and the obligations contained in the agreement to that effect.
About spaces for business incubation and new companies of PTGC: prices, period of stay, how to apply
To whom are spaces for business incubation and new companies spaces of PTGC intended?
These spaces are aimed at:
- Incubated companies: companies in which their majority partners have not developed any professional or business activity, prior to the incorporation of the company, on their own account or as a partner and / or manager of commercial companies.
- New companies: companies in which one of their majority partners have developed any professional or business activity, on their own account or as a partner and / or manager of commercial companies.
These companies should meet the following requirements:
- Autonomous micro-enterprises (definition): self-employed, professionals or legal persons with less than 10 employees and a limit of 2 million euros in turnover or in their balance sheet and which are not owned by other entities and/or have no participation in other entities. In case of being owned and/or participating in other entities, that the participation is less than 25% of the capital or voting rights), according to the definition and requirements established at any time by the European Union.
- Newly created or it has passed two years at most since the beginning of its activity.
- They have a viable business plan at the discretion of the Evaluation Committee comprised of representatives of the FCPCT and SPEGC.
- Developing a lawful and adequate activity to the characteristics of the spaces offered.
- They have a promoter or team of promoters with sufficient links and capacity to develop the business project.
- Developing technological projects and/or innovative business models that provide a differential value and/or represent an improvement to the local environment, or developing advanced proffesional services in engineering or architecture.
- They need business support to ensure the development of their project.
Period of stay in the spaces for business incubation and new companies of PTGC
The stay duration in the incubation spaces is a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 3 years. Notwithstanding the above, the interested parties shall request a maximum period of stay of 2 years, which may be extended for an additional year.
The request for extension shall be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee, which shall determine the need for permanence in these spaces based on the evaluation and follow-up done to the company. In addition, the extension shall be conditioned to the fulfilment of the requirements, the organizational needs of the management entities of the spaces and the availability of space in view of the demands.
For companies that meet the requirements established and that come from the coworking service, the maximum period of stay in the spaces for business incubation and new companies shall be the one that remains until completing the 3 years, reason why the duration period of said coworking service shall be able to take into account for the computation of the maximum period of stay in the incubation spaces.
Prices of the spaces for business incubation and new companies of PTGC
For the year 2016, the prices approved are as follows:
- Furnished office: 11 € / m2 (PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA)
- Office not furnished: 10 € / m2 (PTGC- CAMPUS DE TAFIRA AND PTGC-RFC
Those incubated companies that have finished in the 6 months prior to the application for a space an entrepreneurship program of the SPEGC, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) or the Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT ULPGC), will enjoy a 30% discount on the above prices, and provided that the number of people who are going to work in the space is at least two.
How to apply for the spaces for business incubation and new companies of PTGC?
To request an incubation space, the interested party shall send the duly completed form (see form), which shall be attached to the documentation indicated, in each case:
Regarding the company:
Legal persons:

- Registration in the Special Regime of Autonomous Social Security Workers (Régimen Especial de Trabajadores Autónomos.)
- ID or Foreigner’s ID (NIE) of the individual entrepreneur.
- Accreditation of the beginning of the activity through the submission of the Census Declaration Form (036/037).
- Responsible declaration of the individual entrepreneur stating that they had not previously developed any professional or business activity, either on their own account or as a partner and / or manager of a commercial company, or that in the case Of having previous experience this does not exceed one year.
Regarding the business project:
- Business plan with the minimum content of the model available on the form.
Regarding the space for business incubation and new companies:
The form contains a section for the company to select its preference regarding the location of incubation spaces, as well as its surface, this choice being informative and non-binding.
Spaces for business incubation and new companies shall be assigned depending on the type of project to be developed, the needs requested and the availability of space in the different buildings. The agreement of admission shall contain the data of the space of incubation assigned for its acceptance by the applicant.
The submission of the application for an incubation space implies the approval and acceptance of the rules of incubation spaces (see standards).

What does being user of spaces for business incubation and new companies of PTGC imply?
- Provide the necessary information to the managing entity to assess the services of incubation to offer to the company at each moment and to be able to carry out the project follow-up during the incubation period.
- Perform an effective use of the space for the development of the project as presented during the term of the contract.
- Should also comply with the standards of the incubation spaces (see rules) and the obligations contained in the agreement to that effect.
Spaces for attracting technological and innovative projects to the PTGC: prices, period of stay, how to apply
To whom are intended the spaces for attracting technological and innovative projects to the PTGC?
These spaces are directed to legal entities that develop a project that meets the following requirements:
- Technological and/or innovative; intensive in the use of technology or development or application of R&D.
- Adequate to the activity to the spaces characteristics offered.
- Intensive in the generation of qualified employment; creation of at least 5 jobs in the development of the project within the first six months of stay in the spaces of the PTGC and maintaining this minimum quantity during their stay in them.
- Contributing a differential value and/or representing an improvement for the local environment.
- With a minimum investment of 300,000 euros in their development.
Period of stay in the offie space for the attraction of technological and innovative projects to the PTGC
The stay duration in one of these spaces is for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 6 years. Notwithstanding the above, interested parties shall request a maximum period of stay of 3 years, which may be extended for a maximum period of 3 further years.
The request for an extension shall be made on the form provided for this purpose; the documentation necessary shall be attached for its evaluation with regard to the need for continuance in these spaces. In addition, any extension shall be conditioned upon fulfilment of the requirements, the organisational needs of the spaces´ management entities and the availability of space in view of demand.
Prices of spaces for the attraction of technological and innovative projects to the PTGC
For the year 2016, the prices approved are as follows:
- Furnished office: 11 € / m2 (PTGC-CAMPUS DE TAFIRA)
- Office not furnished: 10 € / m2 (PTGC- CAMPUS DE TAFIRA AND PTGC-RFC)
How to apply for a space for attraction of technological and innovative projects to the PTGC?
In order to request a space, the interested entity that complies with the above requirements, shall send the duly completed form (see form), which shall be attached to the documentation indicated, in each case:
Regarding the company:
- Deed of incorporation of the mercantile entity, if applicable, deeds of amendment of the bylaws, duly registered in the corresponding Mercantile Registry.
- Tax identification number (NIF) of the entity.
- Deed of legal representative duly registered in the corresponding Commercial Registry.
- Accreditation of the beginning of the activity through the submission of the Census Declaration Form (Mod. 036).
Regarding the project:
Information about the project to be developed with the minimum content included in the model attached to the application form (see form,) which shall contain, among other things:
- Project description,
- Main milestones thereof,
- Accreditation of the connection with the ULPGC or the Technology Park of Gran Canaria,
- Investment to be made,
- Employment to generate,
- Justification of the differential value or improvement for the local environment.
Regarding space:
The form contains a section for the company to select its preference regarding the location of the spaces, as well as its surface, this choice being informative and non-binding.
The spaces shall be allocated according to the type of project to be developed, the needs requested and the availability of space in the different buildings. The agreement of admission shall contain the data of the space assigned for its acceptance by the applicant.
The submission of the application for an attraction space implies the approval and acceptance of the rules of incubation and consolidation spaces (see standards).
Criteria for the evaluation of applications submitted to space for attraction of technological and innovative projects to the PTGC
Applications for the development of projects that meet the above requirements shall be evaluated and scored according to the following criteria:
Generation of skilled employment in the development of the project: 30
Use of technology or development or implementation of R&D: 30
Differential value and/or improvement to the local environment: 15
Investment for the project: 15
Connection with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or with the Technological Park of Gran Canaria: 5
In order for the application to be admitted, you shall need to obtain a minimum of 60 points. The evaluation of the project will may lead to an interview with the applicant company.
On the basis of the fulfilment of the requirements, the result of the application evaluation and the availability of spaces, the application shall be accepted or denied as soon as possible.
In the event of not having adequate spaces or that the space offered is not accepted by the applicant, the application shall be on hold during a period of 6 months, after which it shall expire.
After the admission of the application, it shall be necessary the acceptance by the applicant of the allocated space and the formalization of the corresponding contract with the managing entity.
Notifications shall be made by mail to the address indicated for the purpose in the application.
What does being user of a space for the attraction of technological projects and innovative to PTGC imply?
- Perform an effective use of the space for the development of the presented project during the term of the contract and comply with the project objectives as reflected in the submitted project information.
- Confirm the fulfilment of the requirements for the occupation of these spaces during the period established. The breach of this obligation or any of the requirements shall result in the immediate termination of the contract.
- Should also comply with the standards of incubation and consolidation spaces and the obligations contained in the agreement to that effect.
