The Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Fundación Canaria Parque Científico Tecnológico de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, FCPCT), is a link between innovate enterprises and research centres. It manages a compendium of basic facilities of innovation and of incorporation of technological business, essential for R&D&I processes and technology development.   It boosts the creation and growth of innovative enterprises and provide other value added services as well as high quality space and facilities.

The Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria contributes to a common ground, a meeting place between companies, the world of research and the development with the local productive sector, and at the same time a “cultivation” space for new companies, enabling innovation and “self-employment” for the graduates.


ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria launched the Scientific Park on 14 November 2001, following the construction of its main centre at the Tafira Campus.

The Canarian Science and Technology Park Foundation of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT) is constituted on 16th June 2008, being the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Inter-island Council of Gran Canaria its founders. Its mission is the production and management of R&D&I as well as highly specialized services supply, encouraging and managing knowledge and technology flow among the University, research bodies, companies and markets.

The Board is the governing and representative body of the Foundation, which has to comply with the foundational purposes and the administration of the goods and rights forming its assets. It is comprised of:

  • President: Mr. Lluís Serra Majem, in his capacity as Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
  • Vice-President: Mr. Ángel Tristán Pimienta, in his capacity as Chairman of the Social Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
  • Secretary: Mrs. Inmaculada González Cabrera, in her capacity as General Secretary of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
  • Chair: Mr. Roberto Moreno Díaz, in her capacity as Manager of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
  • Chair: Mrs. Marisol Izquierdo López, in his capacity as Vice-Rector of Research and Technology Transfer of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
  • Chair: Mr Cosme García Falcón, in his capacity as Manager of the Economic Promotion Society of Gran Canaria.


To the management and administration of the Science and Technology Park, as well as all the Foundation remaining concerns, the Board appoints:

  • Mrs. María Josefa Padrón León. Provisional Managing Director

At the moment, the Science and Technology Park has several locations accross Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde, Arucas and Gáldar towns.

QUALITY POLICY STATEMENT

Fundación Canaria Parque Científico Tecnológico de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (FCPCT) hereby certifies, by means of IQNet and Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación (AENOR), a quality management system which fulfills the requeriments of the ISO 9001:2015 standard for the following field of activities:

Administrative and financial management of:

  • Research projects
  • Agreements and contracts between companies and ULPGC.
  • Facilities of “Parque Científico Tecnológico” (Science and Technology Park) of the ULPGC.

Provision of services for:

  • Intellectual property of ULPGC.
  • Communication and dissemination of R&D and innovation.

The implementation of this quality management system in the FCPCT means a significant improvement of the organization with the aim of providing a better service to the users, fulfilling the founding goals among which stands out "promotion, management, maintenance and exploitation of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the research centers dependent on it, as a tool for achieving the goal of enhancing knowledge, development and business innovation in Canary Islands”.
